When we got commissioned with the new CD for the three museums, namely Die Pinakothek der Moderne, Die Neue Pinakothek and Die Alte Pinakothek, we never wanted to only emphasize the three museums, we also wanted to invite all the other cultural institutions and to give Munich a name in the world of cultures.

It took us ten years to invite all the institutions and in the end it was a presentation at the Nymphenburger Palace that gave the green light to an unusual term, one that is as unique as the art world in Munich. Because we believe that together, we are stronger and that the idea, the Kunstareal, has no limit.
